Privacy should be understandable.

1. Information Mac Doctor may use

Mac Doctor processes device and diagnostic information that you ask it to inspect. Depending on the device and permissions you grant, this may include device name and model, operating-system version, battery status, storage information, thermal state, network status, security settings, performance readings, connected-device details, reports, alerts, and diagnostic history.

When you use Sign in with Apple, Mac Doctor may receive the name, email address or private relay address, and account identifier that Apple allows you to share. Apple may provide your name and email only during the first authorization, so Mac Doctor may preserve the authorized values for later sessions.

2. How information is used

Information is used to provide health checks, device summaries, reports, alerts, recommendations, approved remote requests, cross-device synchronization, account continuity, subscriptions, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and product security.

Mac Doctor does not use your diagnostic information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and it does not sell personal information.

3. Local and iCloud storage

Many readings and preferences remain on your device. Eligible, privacy-filtered device records may be stored in the owner’s private iCloud database so linked devices can remain current. Wi-Fi names and other details identified in the app as local-only are not included in shared device summaries.

Apple operates iCloud, Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, notifications, and subscription billing under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies. Mac Doctor does not receive your complete payment card information from Apple.

4. Permissions and remote requests

Mac Doctor requests operating-system permissions only when a feature needs them. Remote actions follow the permission choice shown in the app: Allow Once, Always Allow, or Deny. You can review or change supported permissions in Mac Doctor and Apple system settings.

Apple continues to control device trust, screen-sharing consent, authentication, visible session controls, and disconnection. Mac Doctor does not silently enable Screen Sharing or store a Screen Sharing password.

5. Retention and deletion

Mac Doctor keeps information only for as long as needed to provide the feature, preserve your chosen history, meet security obligations, or comply with law. Available in-app controls can remove reports, completed request history, saved sign-in identity, and synchronized records. You may also contact support to ask about account or data deletion options.

6. Security and children

Mac Doctor uses platform security controls, scoped permissions, code signing, and privacy filtering appropriate to the feature. No system can guarantee absolute security, so please report suspected security issues promptly and never send passwords, recovery codes, or private keys through support email.

Mac Doctor is a general-audience device utility and is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should supervise use by a minor where required.

7. Changes and contact

This policy may change as Mac Doctor develops. Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to support@macdoctor.app.
